Transparency

Sources

We don't just claim figures – we back them up. Here you'll find all the laws, studies, and expert sources behind our guides and our management-switch guide, openly linked and verifiable. And where a source is weaker, we say so too.

How We Research

We verify every core statement against multiple independent sources. Disputed figures and legal questions are additionally cross-checked in an independent, adversarial fact-check round. Legal information is based on primary sources – statutory text (Fedlex, Swiss Civil Code) and Federal Supreme Court rulings.

All sources last accessed on July 8, 2026.

Less Well Substantiated – For Orientation Only

Honesty is part of transparency: we use this information cautiously, or not at all, as hard evidence.

  • Mieterverband / SRF Kassensturz – «rund die Hälfte der Nebenkostenabrechnungen fehlerhaft» A frequently cited industry figure without a dated original study – we use it cautiously, attributed as "according to the Tenants' Association / Kassensturz."
  • CUREM / Universität Zürich (2013) – fehlender Aufwands-/Qualitätsanreiz beim Prozentmodell Cited as evidence in our fixed-fee article; the exact source reference will be added later.
  • WEKO-Beanstandung (1998) – Rückzug der SVIT-Honorarrichtlinien Substantiated in substance; we are still verifying the exact RPW (competition law gazette) reference.
  • RealAdvisor – regionale Mietpreise Advertised asking rents (not existing-lease rents) and at times volatile – used only as a rough guide, labeled accordingly.
  • NZZ – «Der Frust der Mieter steigt» (07.01.2025) Media report; full text behind a paywall.
